He Must REALLY Love That Car...

The other day while driving home through my neighborhood, I saw something that I thought in my eyes was quite humorous. This man had a leaf blower and was blow drying his car. The car itself, wasn't even a new one...it wasn't even in great condition...and the funny thing was, was the weather condition outside wasn't the greatest. It looked like it was about to POUR down rain any minute. Apparently, he wasn't a fan of water spots. :)

Cajun Shrimp and Spray Tan

I have found a new polish that I absolutely LOVE. Usually, for various reasons, I never paint my nails. One, my nails are horrible. Having the bad habit, of constantly picking at them, bright colors tend to bring more attention to my hands. Secondly, they always tend to chip due to me constantly being on the computer. The other day, Paula painted my nails with the new color she had, and I LOVE IT. My nails actually look really good, and several people (including my husband) have complimented on it. This picture just doesn't do it justice. :)

On another note...I have found a new love. Since I have decided to not tan that much anymore, I tried out the Sun Tan City Spray Tan. I. LOVED. IT!! Sundays, everything is half off. In my eyes, it was a great deal. I paid 10 bucks for a medium spray with a hydration mist included. Next time, I think I am going to try it out without the Hydration and see how that works...that's only 8 Bucks! No streaks, no blotches...just perfect results.

Nine Words, We Women...Use.

I received this yesterday from my co-worker...and I thought it was not only hilarious, but so incredibly true (well, at least for me!). So I just had to share with all my blog friends! :)

1) FINE: This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right, and you need to shut up.

2) FIVE MINUTES: If we are getting dressed, this means give us a half an hour. Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five minutes to watch the game before helping out around the house.

3) NOTHING: This is the calm before the storm. This means something, and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with "nothing" usually end in "fine".

4) GO AHEAD: This is a dare, not permission. Don't Do It!!

5) LOUD SIGH: This is actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A loud sigh means we think you are an idiot and wonder why we are wasting our time standing here arguing with you about nothing! (Refer back to #3 for the meaning of nothing.)

6) THAT'S OKAY: This is one of the most dangerous statements we women can make to a man. "That's okay" means we want to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.

7) THANKS: When a woman is thanking a man, you do not question it, or faint. Just say "you're welcome." (I want to add in a clause here-Unless we say "Thanks a lot", that means pure sarcasm. DO NOT say "You're welcome". That will bring on a "whatever").

8) WHATEVER: Is our way of saying "F--- YOU!"

9) DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT...I GOT IT: Another dangerous statement, which means this is something that a woman has told you over and over again to do...but is now doing it herself. This will result in a man asking "What's wrong?". For the response we give as #3.

Hope it brought some laughter your way...we all know it's true! :)

Today is the Big Day....I Think??

You people who read this are probably wondering what in the world could be so big about today. I'm already married, no kids yet...so what's the deal? My phone charger should be safely sitting in my mailbox when I get home today. Am I crazy or what about being so excited about having my phone back?? Yes. I will say it with you. Yes, I am crazy. It's been one of those things, that I hate hearing it ring. I hate having to talk on it, and I even hate THE phone. BUT....When you have one for so very long, and then go with out it for a week or so, you realize just how much easier certain things are in life. For example...My shopping trips ALWAYS consist of me texting my husband informing him on how perfect a particular purse is, and how my feet would feel so much better if I had a particular pair of shoes. OR.....going to the grocery store. I always at some point text him to see if we have a certain item or not, where I didn't think to put it on my list before. So yes...I am ready to have my phone back! WooHoo! :)

Tonight, I am so excited about making this new dish. It's Chicken Spinach Enchiladas. Yum! I really do enjoy making new things. I'll have to share the outcome!

Hope everyone has a wonderful day! :)

How Rude....

Remember Stephanie on the series "Full House"...her signature phrase, "How ruuuude." That is what I sounded like say 5 minutes ago. I don't understand the way customer service works. I have worked in it ever since my first job, constantly dealing with people, and what their needs were, and I know that there were probably times that I was flustered, and tired...but I would never make a person feel stupid for asking a question.

I simply called Verizon and asked if I could leave my phone there and get it charged. I felt like asking wouldn't hurt anything, and you just never know....maybe they did. The guy basically laughed at me saying that they don't have chargers laying around. DUH!! That's not what I was asking, sir!! I was seeing if yall had a charger in the back where the technicians worked that could do a one time charging.

Guess I gave him the laugh of the day. Glad I was able to do so. Arghh.

The Thought's are Flowing...

:: Tomorrow, we are having a date night. It's kind of crazy, because this date night consisted of my husband asking me out, and even telling me he wanted me to go get a new outfit for tomorrow. :) He makes my heart smile. Usually, throughout the day, during our text messaging, we will mention what the weekend holds...suggesting ideas, but THIS time, he said he wanted to have a date night this Friday. I'm happy.

:: Another reason my heart is smiling is my sister, Amber is having a sweet Baby Girl. They are naming her, Olivia Kate. So precious. They just found out yesterday! It was such a special day!

:: This new greeting I am having to say when answering the phones, is so different, I stutter and stumble while talking. I even wrote myself a sticky note to read it as I speak.

:: Speaking of phones, I am about to go crazy not having my cell phone!!! Argghhh. But it's a lesson learned to not leave your charger some where. I swear, I am always leaving some thing some where!!!

:: Have I mentioned, I want to go on a get-a-way trip with my Lovey and Kaci??

:: I felt like Super Wife yesterday after work. Got home, made dinner, got the laundry started, and cleaned all before my Hubby came home from work. That's all within an hr of me getting home. Now, it wasn't MAJOR cleaning, but hey, it counts!!

:: Last night, I went running around my neighborhood. It felt so incredibly wonderful. The air was cool, and it was later in the evening, so I didn't have to worry about getting run over by the crazy, speeding cars.

:: I never thought I would say that I am excited about having the lawn people come and mow tomorrow. Our yard looks like a jungle, and Kaci gets so wet from the early morning dew whenever I take her out...not to mention, it makes my legs and feet itch.

:: This weekend, I am having to come in for a bit, and scan like crazy since I am so behind. I have even offered to do this. I can't actually go in there, because the scanner is in some one's office which is always being used. SO, yeah...but hey, that's overtime.

:: And just to end this....yesterday was Earth Day...did you hug a tree?? :)

I Need...Or Should I Say I Want??

I am in desperate need of a vacation. Well, maybe that's my dramatic side coming in to play, but yes, I want to go on vacation. Not even a week's vacation, but even a weekend get-a-way would satisfy this desire. I need some different scenery. I need something other than Lebanon, Mt. Juliet and Gallatin....since those seem to be the only locations I go to anymore. And I don't want to go to Gatlinburg. I want something beachy, warm...sunny, and relaxing. With the whole new job search coming to mind, I keep thinking that my week's vacation will be shot out the window if I ever get one...asking for a week off would be a no-no in my head. Is this girl asking too much??

My Newest...

Lastnight, I attempted to try a new recipe. This dish turned out pretty good, and a plus was that Mike really enjoyed it. The good thing about it, was that it really didn't take that long to make it. I cheated, and used the Tyson Chicken in a can, because I hate boiling and shredding my chicken. I would have pictures, but I forgot to take a few shots.

It's called Deluxe-Honey Pecan Chicken Salad. Very yummy, and you have several options in preparing it.

4 c. cubed, cooked chicken
1 1/2 c. green seedless grapes
1 c. pecan pieces
1/2 c. mayonnaise or creamy salad dressing
1/4 c. sour cream
2 tbsp. honey
1 tsp. poppy seeds
White or black pepper, to taste
Lettuce leaves

Combine chicken, grapes and pecans in large bowl; set aside. Stir mayonnaise, sour cream, honey, poppy seeds and pepper in small bowl to blend well; add to chicken mixture. Toss well to coat.

I placed it on a fresh deli made crossaint with Swiss Cheese and a dap of Honey Mustard. Very yummy. So yummy, I'm eating it for lunch today! :)

Weekend Recap

This weekend was such a great one. Friday evening, I had my parents over for some "meet and greet" time with little Kaci, following with some yummy fat filled pizza and gralic bread. There is a funny story with this. Mike and I live so close to Gallatin now. We live in Lebanon, but where our house is located, it's quicker to just drive over the bridge and be right there to what we need rather than driving to the heart of Lebanon. SO, with that said....we had the hardest time trying to find the local Pizza Hut. Even with reviewing Google map, we could not locate the pizza parlor. After 20 minutes of exploring, we realized Pizza Hut was next door to our new favorite Japanese Hibachi Grill. We're an observant couple, aren't we??
Saturday was a good day. I rised and shined to Kaci giving me kisses all over. I took her to her vet appt at 1:30 where she was poked and examined. Still healthy as can be. Gained one pound. Then after that, Kaci and I loaded up and headed to my sister's in Louisville. We laughed and laughed...I always have the best time while I am there. Mike stayed home, having a guy's UFC night. Kaci pretty much slept the whole time we were there, and then about 15 minutes before we left on Sunday, she perked up. I think she got vibes we were leaving and got excited.
Today, Kaci is with her daddy at home. This Banker-Hubby of mine gets more days off. I miss those days. But anyways. The weather today is dreary and cold. I hate it....but Saturday will be amazing. Close to the 80's and clear. Just what I love. I am thinking about driving to Glasgow to see my grandparents. I wasn't able to stop by on my way home from Louisville. Kaci was so tired, and I was tired...and honestly I just wanted to get home, and not risk driving too terribly late. I mean, I went to bed at 8:30 last night!!! :) Well...that's it for my weekend recap...I hope everyone has a marvelous week ahead!

Rambles

~ The more I use this phone...the more I dispise it. I thought I loved it, but it's actually getting more annoying. The sound when I call people always sounds muffled, and the camera absolutely sucks. Not to mention, there's no camcorder on it, so I can't record anything, which I used to always do on all my old phones.

~ Last night, Kaci scared the crap out of me. While sitting at home looking through my coupons I had been racking up at the kitchen table, Kaci occuppied herself across the kitchen by sniffing at her dogfood bag...which was sitting by the vent. Low and behold, she decides that the air felt good on her belly...which led to her tag getting stuck in the vent. There I am freaking out because every time I tried to get to her leash, she would hyperventilate, and yelp. So...in the end after about 5 minutes, I was able to cut her collar off. Talkin' about holding and loving on her for awhile.
~My hubby is taking a half a day off of work. He's coming to pick Kaci up from here at work and taking her home with him. I wish I could take off work early...but I can't complain because I'm taking Thursday off.
~I am so relieved that about how my boss is acting with this situation of job-hunting. Yes, she knows. It's crazy to be able to talk to your boss about your resumes, and jobs out there. I couldn't stand to not be honest with her any longer. Alot of people, I think would keep their feelings aside, by saying they had doctors appts, or being sick...but I went ahead and had a discussion that I wanted to search for a job. I told her that I felt like I wasn't meeting her expectations of what she hired me for. Luckily, she said do whatever I needed, and that she would definitely give me a good word and time. I was relieved. That I could still stay and do what I'm doing because she knows that the job situation is tough out there. So, Thursday I am heading out, hitting more of the Providence area, and then venturing in to Hermitage and Donelson to see what I can find.
~On the job topic, I did get a call from Tennessee Credit Union which is located right there in Gallatin (it's a 10 minute drive from my house). Everything was a plus....location, the job itself...tellerwork, no quotas, nothing like that....BUT the hours. Part time we could handle...BUT it was only 19 hrs part time. Basically Monday and Fridays if that, and another day jost covering lunches. So that was a bummer. Talking about weird. Both myself and my boss, Carolyn had fingers crossed that this would be the job for me. I have faith that everything is going to turn out.
~I'm so excited about tonight. We are heading to Famous Daves for my dear friend, Ray...it is his birthday, so seeing everyone will be wonderful.
~Right now, I am absolutely starving.
~.....and thirsty.
~The weather outside today has turned cool, and it's doing that annoying misting type rain. Where's the sunshine, people??!

Our Newest Addition...

I have fallen in love. Completely. This little furball, as I say..has won not only my heart, but my Loveys. It started yesterday. After coming to the fact that we were finally able to bring a puppy in to our home, I started right away searching top breeders in our area. Breeders that had great testmonials.
So, yesterday as I anxiously drove home after work from picking up a small crate, I waited for the phonecall from Mrs. Debbie. We met at the local Kangaroo Station and followed to see our precious sight. It was a fluffy snowball...hair so white. Just what I wanted, a maltipom (Maltese-Pomeranian). Weighing in a 3pds 6oz. this adorable little snowball gave us more kisses than I thought would ever happen.
Kaci slept so good lastnight. Didn't even potty once in her crate. Had a few tinkle accidents here and there in the living room, but her tinklings are the size of a dime. No lie. I just love her. And Mike, who I thought would never fall for this type of dog, has held her, asked for more pictures, sent more texts today, has just made me laugh. During the middle of the night, he woke me up to ask "how's our baby?". So funny to see how he has taken on the "fatherly role" of a dog...it will be crazy to see him with our first child! :)
I took Kaci today for her first puppy exam..and glad to hear again, she is a healthy girl! More pics to come! :)

Talkative Tuesday

This morning, I thought I was literally dying. Lately it seems as if anything I put in my mouth causes some sort of stomach issue, which this morning, put me behind alot. Since another co-worker wasn't gonna be in till noon, I hurriedly scrunched my hair (which in fact doesn't even hold since my hair needs to be trimmed so bad), and I wasn't even able to put some mascara on!!!! So yeah, I look like walking death today. Anyways...enough complaining.
This past weekend, my Lovey admitted some pretty exciting news to me! He said that he wanted to get a puppy, and that he was gonna talk to Jason some more. Mike was thinking that they would re-consider since we are looking into buying the house some time this year. I about died...since I had pretty much given up on that idea. So, as of right now, Jason was gonna talk it over with his wife, Amy and let us know. We looked at a particular adoption website (NewLeashonLife), and browsed through some breeds we might consider.
I'm lovin' that today is actually sunny and clear. The temperature could be alittle bit warmer, but hey...at least it's not cold AND rainy.
Well, last night I applied for some more jobs. I'm really praying hard that these will start looking hopeful. When Mike and I went to Verizon last night, I saw an old friend, Tina from High school and who I worked with at Wilson Bank. She is a now working for a hospital here in Nashville doing clerical work. She told me a website to go on, and that they were always hiring for different departments, hospitals, and Dr's offices. Just from that website alone..I applied for 8 or 9 different postings. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that something will come out of this.
Anyways. Hope everyone has a good day! We're one day closer to the weekend! :)

TGIF

My rambling must start now. It has been a very slow day here at the office. No one is here and it's just Jenn and myself. The boss is out enjoying her day with her husband, and Paula is heading to Atlanta. I started by making some phonecalls which ended in "I'm not really that interested, but thank you anyways". The funny thing I find is that Southern charm. We southern people, always have to add the "but thank you anyways". I love it. So right now, I'm taking a few minutes to blog away. Earlier this morning, I was talking to my boss. She found this really interesting website called RootsWeb.com where you can find people who have passed on. I found my mom on there. It's still so surreal to an extent to see her name plastered up in a list of names. Her birthday is April 10th, in which she would have been 55 yrs old. WOW.
On a different note, I'm so glad today is Friday. Everyone always seems to be in a better mood. I'm excited about this weekend. Tomorrow, Mike and I are heading to Glascow, Ky for our Easter lunch with my grandparents and family, and not to forget that it is my younger brother's 20th birthday! WOW! Crazy how time flys. I'm so proud of the man he has become. Although he's still my brother, and can drive me nuts :), I do love him. Then Sunday, we're gonna meet up with Jimmy, Michelle and their baby girl for lunch. I can't wait to see them. It's been too long since we have all hung out. Sunday night, of course is UFC. I think Mike and I may be heading to Lee's house to watch the fight.
Well, the sun's peeking out right now. It's a little chilly outside, though. Tomorrow is supposed to be nice, and I am so glad. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Spring Showers and Resumes....

Today, I must say was a very long day. I took the day off to go out and about in the nearest towns to hand out my resumes. The whole day, Mike would send me texts, "How's everything looking?"...and honestly I have no clue. Right now with the economy being how it is, this isn't the greatest time to be looking for employment. I know everything is in God's hands, and no matter what Mike and I will be taken care of, but still. I am thankful to have a job, but honestly if I don't start looking, she's gonna let me go. I can feel it. I am the agency's Bank Representative and my numbers, aka Quota, is not being met.
This morning I headed to the next town over known as Gallatin. I went to several hotels, I hit up a few credit unions...a few banks, and then around to the other side of town, Lebanon. There, I stopped at several more hotels, some Dentist and Doctor's offices, and a bank or two. I grabbed some lunch at Zaxbys, praying I would not drop any sauce on my outfit because I still was not done with my "Resume Route" as I should call it. I drove on to Mt. Juliet hoping and praying I would find something. Within Mt.Juliet, for those who have been there, there's either a bank or a church on every corner it seems like. So I dropped one of at some more banks, I hit up the Middle TN Electric Company...and a Holiday Inn. Not to mention, yesterday I faxed in several of my resumes to different offices and health clinics. Shouldn't out of alllll those places, I hear something???! So for those of you who pray...please pray for me. I know what is meant to be will be.
On another note...we have some serious weather going on in Middle Tennessee. I think both Mike and I have jumped a few times here and there. It's got the ugly grayish green coloring outside...the color of a tornado hitting at anytime. If that happens, we have our location picked out to go running to! :)
