And I Just Can't Hide It...

I have come to the reality that lately, as in the last month, I have been vacation minded. I have been so bad about jumping on the bandwagon in the blogging world, that I have seemed like I have abandoned it.

This past weekend was a great one, but busy I might add. I had to work late Friday night, and the hubster and I hit up the local movie theatre to see Saw VI. Gory, bloody, and scary = just what I like. Don't get me wrong, I love comedies and love stories, but there's nothin' like a movie to put you on the edge of your seat, and in your lover's arms. Needless to say, it was a good movie.

Saturday we had Mike's work over at the house for some yummy burgers and fixin's. I wish I would have gotten some pictures. I was so busy being "Good Wife and Hostess", that I forgot to bring the camera out. We laughed, and laughed, and I must say he is blessed to work with a great bunch that is our age. My hubby did a fabulous job grilling, and thankfully...he ended up being ok after synging the hair of his arms, and face. Yes, I said synging. If only I had a picture to go with this story. I look out the back door, and see my husband and the grill in gulfed in flames, with my husband turnin' burgers like nothin' was going on. Over sized flames on a small grill sitting on a wooden deck + a human being = no good. His hairless arm was the talk of the evening.

After the yummy burgers, we all headed to Death Valley Haunted Woods. I hate places like those, which you would think I would love them considering I love scary movies. No. I hate them. I hate Michael Myers. I hate the chainsaw guys. I hate Freddie Kruger. I hate them all. Luckily, I survived.

Afterwards, the hubby and I decided to head to Buffalo Wild Wings to catch the main event of the UFC fight. I think I was the only one in that place half asleep. I was tired....although I did find a new favorite beverage. It was mighty tasty, but not worth 7 bucks.

Now, the week is here, and it's almost Hump Day. I honestly don't think Sunday can get here fast enough. We are packing the truck and heading to Destin for the week. Mike and I have not been on a vacation since our honeymoon. And even our honeymoon was in Tennessee, which don't get me wrong, I loveddddddddddddddddddd our honeymoon. But I am now ready to get away. Far away. I am excited about seeing his sweet grandparents, and cousins. But I must admit with the excitement of vacation, I have had a mixture of sadness mixed it with it. I won't be spending Thanksgiving with my family this year (our family Thanksgiving is the weekend of the 8th). I promise you this, I will be thinking of everyone while I am away.

Randoms

~ I have a sore on the back of my tongue that I believe is making my throat feel like it is hurting. I pray oh so hard that I am not getting sick.

~ I took a pregnancy test due to some certain signs, and praise the Lord, I am not pregnant. I believe truly, that Mike and I both will know when the right time is to have children. And with me praising God I'm not, if it were to happen, well then we would be thrilled, but as of right now we are trying our best to prevent the happening! :)

~ I am on the search for some new black boots. Perferrably dress and casual. I have been blessed with vulumptious calves, so unfortunately knee high boots do not look all that great on me. I would love to be able to wear them, but I can never get them to zip all the way up!

~ We leave November 1st for Destin. I absolutely cannot wait to go! Mike and I have not taken a vacation somewhere longer than a weekend since our honeymoon that wasn't to Georgia or Kentucky. I am stoked. From what I am researching, the weather during this time is nice during the day but a tad cooler in the evening. Either way, I'm excited.

~ Lastnight when I got home from shopping with the BFF, I put Kaci in these adorable spiderweb pajama's and noticed that she has pulled a chunk out of her tail. It is raw and red. Anyone know why they do this? I have heard 2 things so far...allergies and boredom. I hate seeing that happen, and I hope it doesn't continue.

~ Saturday night, Mike's gang from work is coming over for some burgers, and then for a fun Haunted House outing! Oh joy!

~ Well, as of right now the house is cleaned, lunches are made, and my blog posting is done! I think I'm ready for bed! Hope everyone has a marvelous weekend!!!

Back to Life

Yes, oh yes...I am back, and this here ol' blog of mine has been brought back to life. You see, I got myself a new Blackberry, in which I love, love, love! I thought I was a basic kind of girl, but after getting my hands on one, I was hooked. So, the hubs bought myself and him one. We are look like two peas in a pod. Well, after having my phone go off a million times the first day with email notifications of just JUNK mail, I decided I cwanted to start fresh and create a new email. I never realized what all that would do to a girls life. I had so much I had to notify to get changed on some accounts I needed to still hold on to. So after doing so, I figured how to get my blog up and running. I was pretty upset when I thought my blog had died.

Anyway. Life around here today has been pretty low key. Mike had to work this morning, so I just chilled around the house until he got home, which consisted on Kaci and I heading with him to Lowes to get an air filter for the house.

I'm guessing the whole point to this post is to let you know, that I have slacked for a bit, but I am back in the game! Happy Saturday to all!

Paw Prints.

The past few days have been pretty wild, and different. I would say I am I pretty straight-laced kind of person. I'm not spontaneous by no means...I have to have a plan of action or it drives me crazy, and you get a regular ol' freak out session. Yesterday I did something totally out of my realm. Something that looking back, was pretty stupid. But, I was blessed in more ways that one. If anyone knows me, they could very easily see that I am a dog lover. I "ooh and awwww" at just about any breed. Lately, I have brought up to the husband of how bad I wanted a playmate for Kaci. A second dog that could keep her company when she's here during the day and what not. Browsing through Craigslist, I decide to check out the lost and found. There I find a listing for "Small Lap Dog Found". I contact the lady and converse back and forth throughout the day on details of what had happened. She stated that she had found this small dog on the side of the road, took him in, but unfortunately had to leave to go out of town and could not keep him. She didn't want to take him to the shelter because they would put him down. She said she had taken him to the vet, and every thing looked to be fine other than being malnourished. So, from then on, a soft spot formed for this little puppy. I meet her after work at the Chic-Fa-Let in Rivergate and pick up the pitiful little puppy. He was skin and bones, and pretty much looking like he could die any second. Very lethargic, and zoned out. I immediately take him to a local vet, and there they say that he is approximately 8 yrs old (determining my looking at his teeth), he has a faint heart murmur, he's malnourished, still intact (not neutered), and on top of that, needing to be vaccinated. There I am in tears sitting in the vets office. My heart was crushed thinkin' what this poor little guy had been through. The whole evening, my head is spinning. None of the shelters were open considering it was after hours. The animal control would not take him in because I pretty much took him in my own care, so now he was considered my own pet. I never thought before picking this little guy up, what I would do with having Kaci. I couldn't have him near her, just in case he had some strange things going on. Instead, I called my FIL, and he gave us a wire cage to put on the back deck. The whole night, all I heard was it crying...was he crying because he was starving? Probably. Was he crying because he wanted some love and attention? No doubt. This morning I woke up with a headache from hell, pretty much. I called every no-kill shelter known to man in this area. Unfortunately, since there are only very few around here, there were atleast 3 mth waiting lists. Praise God, Mike got off work early and was able to come home and do some research. Praise God, he found a shelter in Franklin. They told him to bring the little guy in, and they would see what they could do. They welcomed him with loving arms, and placed "Buddy" in a foster home they use. I now know that this little guy came in my life for a reason. He was taken off the streets, where God only knows what could happen and placed in a home where all he would receive was love and care. This little guy made me realize just how lucky I am to have a sweet, healthy puppy waiting for me to play. I know animals are animals...but they have souls too. Let's just say, Buddy left paw prints on not only my heart, but my husbands heart too.

This was taken right before Mike gave him away. :(

Random Kind of Sunday

+ As of right now...I'm feeling pretty yucky. Not sick or anything of that nature, just kind of blah. I hate when the weekends consist of really doing nothing except a few things here and there. Yes, sometimes those are nice, but when it consists of watching football, being on the computer 90% of the time and then eating...I start to feel insanely guilty of not getting out and doing something active.

+ I love my husband with all my heart, but sometimes he just plain out gets on my nerves! ((Like at the moment when he is repeating his favorite sentence, "Feed it"...as in reference to my addiction of blogging.

+ I went to Wal-Mart to grab a few things, and when I got home...I opened the car door, and the gallon of milk I bought slammed to the driveway. Talking about wanting to cry over spilled milk!

+ Am I ready for another work week??

+ We found out today that Mike's cousin, Matt...him and his wife are expecting a new baby! This is their first, so please pray! :)

+ Kaci's new hair-do has grown on me...some.

+ We had Taco's tonight...I don't know why we don't have those more often! It's so easy. The longest part is cookin' the meat!

+ Today I froze my account at Sun Tan City. :( Although I quit months and months ago in the tanning beds, I really enjoyed their spray tans (the Versa). Now, I'm officially a whitey.

+ I have officially decided I LOVVVVVVVEEEEEEE Eric Church. I do believe more than Kenny baby Chesney. Now that has to say somethin'!! winks.

Hope everyone has a wonderful week!!

Chili and Garlic Chex Mix

Tonight, we are having a few friends, and Mike's brother, Nick over for the Ohio State game! Of course we have to have some snacks for game time! I made the famous Buffalo Chicken Dip and this new recipe I found last minute (my chocolate for Puppy Chow mix didn't turn out, and this was on the side of the box! :))! I hope it's a hit...seemed yummy when I tried it!

1 bag (3 oz) fat-free butter-flavor microwave popcorn, popped
1/4 cup dry-roasted peanuts
3 tablespoons canola or vegetable oil
1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 teaspoons garlic powder
2 teaspoons chili powder

1. Heat oven to 300°F. In very large bowl, mix cereal, popcorn and peanuts. Drizzle with oil; toss until evenly coated.
2. In small bowl, mix remaining ingredients; sprinkle over cereal mixture. Toss until evenly coated. Spread cereal mixture in ungreased large roasting pan.
3. Bake uncovered 15 minutes, stirring once. Spread on waxed paper to cool, about 10 minutes. Store in airtight container.
**I must say though, I did not add the peanuts and popcorn in it.**

B is for Butchered

Thursday afternoon, I decided to make Kaci a appointment with the groomers. Besides having a puppy cut when she was younger, she had never had a full blown grooming experience. I loved when Petsmart did her Puppycut. She did well, and looked nice, and it only took 2 hours if that. Unfortunately, there isn't a Petsmart (that I know of) that is around Hendersonville or Gallatin that was convenient to take her to while I was at work. So, I took her to a groomer in Hendersonville that I had found online, and had 5 star reviews, and a plus was..it was located 2 blocks up from where I work. So, Friday morning I hauled her to the groomers...got there at approximately 7:30. ((Oh, and I will keep the place nameless due to several unmentionable reasons)) Explaining to them several thoughts and facts such as 1. Kaci has allergies (she's on meds) so any sort of fancy shampoo they may have planned on using they might want to rethink it 2. Behind her ears, she had a matted clump that needed to be cut out 3. This was pretty much her first "real" grooming experience and 4. Keep her look the same, just trim up some of her thick areas. And I made sure to emphasize trim quite a few times. Thinking she would be ready around 1:00 considering that's what time I told her I would like to pick her up since we live 20 mins away, I didn't recieve a phonecall till around 5:30ish stating she would be ready by 6. WHAT THE HEC!!??!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know I should have called and asked what was going on to begin with, but knowing that she said she would call when she was ready, I didn't want to rush the lady and get her to do a crappy job on her. When I pick her up, Kaci's still standing on the table being chopped away at. She still looks cute, but like a totally different dog...so not what I explained to her I wanted. I know it's hair, and it will grow back, but seriously?? She butchered her hair!! She might as well have shaved her!

For those who have seen her know what she looked like...but I will post a picture anyway...
Before:

After:

See how choppy she looks?? And where her matted areas were behind her ears, are now holes of shaved hair? Let's just say she will not be going back again!

OH...And just so everyone knows...we have decided that sweet Kaci was never a MaltiPom to begin with...she looks to much like an American Eskimo. :)

Back with Randoms

-To all my many peeps that read my blog (yeah right), I do apologize for being MIA with my postings. For awhile there, I was blogging everyday, sometimes twice a day...but lately, I have been in a blogging rut. But I am back!
-Thank God for fights. Yes, I said the "f" word. Mike and I had a fight the other night...and it was probably the worst one ever. I'm not one to air our dirty laundry out for the world to see (or read), so the details will remain private...but ever since then...things have been great. It's like sometimes I believe a good fight can bring you back to reality. Thank goodness for the man I married, and for what he makes me want to be.
-This week @ work has seriously been draining. You ask "why are you up blogging away at 11:30 at night??" I haven't a clue. I can't go to sleep. If I lay down, I just toss and turn.
-Mike and I are looking for a playmate for Kaci. Well, actually it's me looking for a playmate for Kaci, but eventually when I find the right one, I believe I will finally be able to say "we".
-Why is it when driving home, I had a whole list of things to blog about, and now when it comes time to type away, I am having the hardest time?
-I need some major work done to this head of hair. It's bad. I need to get a good cut, and color...that will last.
-I have come to realize that the community of Hendersonville, loves McDonald's. Why that is?? I haven't a clue. But as I sit at work in the drive-thru...it is always busy. Crazy that that one location is considered a million dollar store. (I have my ways of knowing this).
-I have some crazy coughs tonight. Aweful.
-As of right now, we are counting down the days to our precious Olivia Kate! If we are anxious, I know the proud parents (Amber and David) are excited!! :)
-There is this girl who sits out in her driveway pretty much in the middle of the yard, and stares at the passing cars. Her sitting there has become such a normal thing to see everyday, that to my Hubs and I...she is known as "my friend". If I go without seeing her for a couple of days, I begin to get concerned...which leads to my Hubs asking about her. Strange that she has no clue she comes up in our family's evening conversations.
-I know tomorrow I will be regretting this late night blogging.
-Ugh.
-Time for bed.
-Good night! :)

Sat.

The Hubster came to me Thursday night with an idea. He said,"Why don't we have an us night tomorrow night?" My reply..."Isn't everynight usually an us night?" ((((I think that response wasn't the one he was hoping for.))) It was really sweet. Unfortunately, our us night got moved to today. Last night, we met up with his new co-workers at a Bowling Alley in Nashville. It was a blast. I really think he's gonna fit in just fine with everyone. Luckily, everyone is pretty much our age. I'm so excited for him!

So, the plan for "Us Day"....?? Well, I looked in to getting a couple's massage, but we both decided to wait for another time with that one. Instead, we are heading to Anchor High Marina (One of my fav-O-rites!), and to see a movie. I'm thinkin' about that Time Traveler's Wife one...but I don't know yet. I may see what's playing. I have heard a few negatives about that. I may decide just to rent it. And, I think we may head to S&K Men's Store to get the Hubster some new dress clothes! At this branch, he's gonna have to wear an actual suit...jacket and all!

Anyways! Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend! Till then...

Crock Pot and Testing

I have never been so impressed in my entire life! Well, maybe that's a tad be dramatized (I do have that family characteristic!), but I am indeed impressed. It's crazy how something you have grown up seeing is so intriguing when it's your own, and your actually using it. Enough with the rambling. I am talking about my beloved Crock Pot I recieved from my parents 8 mths ago as a wedding present. I'm sad that I am just now getting around to using it. Tonights meal was Banquet's Crock Pot Classics Beef PotRoast. I prepared this morning before I left...cooked it on low for about 10 hours, and came home to a house filled with a delicious aroma. I will definitely be preparing this again...and I look forward to trying some new recipes in my beloved crock pot!

On to a much less happier topic...I took my Teller 2 Mastery Test, and the results were just...ugh. Yes, I failed it. I don't know if hearing that everyone I have spoke to has said they failed it the first time makes me feel any better, or if I am just frustrated that I plain out did not pass it. No raise this time, and no check in my hand (when passing, you get a raise, and a $75 check). There is next month, so maybe then...I will be a certified Teller 2! :)

Sunday.

Hi...hi...hi!! Hope everyone has had a great weekend so far! I feel like I haven't posted in a while, so what better way to reconnect than do some randoms??

- This weekend has been pretty "un" productive. Although, I did get some laundry done.

- I really, really, really would love to have the rest of our fence done. The weather like this weekend made me wish that Kaci could play outside on her own. Instead, she had be cooped up with her parents. No fun.

- I accidentally paid off my credit card. Yes, accidentally. You ask "isn't it a good thing?" It is, and praise God funds were available, but $1800 unplanned coming out of your checking account is quite a surprise. Apparently, I clicked the wrong button when making a payment. Um yea....the husband wasn't upset surprisingly. I'm just thankful we're ok, and the money was there.

- I am counting down the days till our vacation. Seriously, everyday I realize more and more how much we need to get away.

- I'm excited about December 12th. We are gonna try and go to the UFC show in Memphis...possibly even with my sister and brother-in-law...(Angel and Bob). Bob is into the fights as much as Mike. Fun times.

- I love Toby Keith's song, "God Love Her". I'm listening to it right now, and it's one of those I could hit replay on it every time.

- Tomorrow's Monday. Ahhhh. Seriously, the weekend flys by every time.

- This year has seriously flown by. My BFF, Jaclyne and I were talking earlier today about already Black Friday this year, and hittin' up the sales again.

- Tonight I gave Kaci a bath since her procedure. She seriously doesn't know how to act!

- I seriously, am having withdrawls from my Spray Tan. Yes, I am an avid fan of SunTan City's Spray Tan. It's THE best. Well, I haven't sprayed in quite a while, and I am seeing that alot today. I feel better tan. That's all there is to it.

- I seriously think we have the cutest puppy ever.

- I made a recipe I snatched off my sister's Blog (Moments with the Mabreys) called Buffalo Chicken Pizza...and it was quite delicious. My husband had seconds...and the portions were quite large to begin with. That's a great sign!

- Is it Friday yet??

Whatcha Think??

I was feelin' a bit crafty lastnight while in cleaning mode. We have had this what used to be a picture frame with hooks. For the longest time, I had it by our back door with nothing in it...no glass nothing. You could see the wall that it hung on. Make sense??

So....I took some paper (scrapbook paper) and this is what it turned out to look like. I hung it over our sink in the kitchen, and I am still kind of up in the air about it. I need some opinions. :)

This is what it looks like all together....

This is what is on each side frame...

And finally the center...

My New Favorite

You know, it really doesn't hurt having a mother who sells Avon products. A couple weeks ago my mom gave us girls some products that had just come out. It was the Skin So Soft Soft and Sensual Lotion & Body Wash. I absolutely LOVE it!! Forget buying those over priced body washes at Kroger or where ever (like I do)...I'm about to stock up!!

Reunion Recap

We had a great time Saturday at the Hall's Family Reunion (My hubby's side of the family). It was a little overwhelming though considering just how many people I had never met due to them living all over that place like Michigan, Minnesota, and several other places. I must have hugged a million and one different people. Everyone was so welcoming, friendly, and full of laughter.

I thought one thing that they do was really cool. Everyone brings a non-parrishable item (can good, cleaning item, etc) and they put it in a big box. Who ever's name gets drawn takes home this huge grocery-give-away prize! I can't remember who it was that won it, I just know it was alot of stuff! Mike won $50 and I won a golfer's prize pack (Mike of course got that!).

The "In Loving Memory" Table full of sweet family members who have passed on.

Such a great job they did on singing and playing the instruments. There were a few people who danced!

Sweet Baby Tobi....This made me want to get another puppy for Kaci!

Mike and his sweet Aunt, Louann...I just love her!

The kiddos in line for the Pinata!!

Papa Ronnie (My FIL) trying to beat Mike at Ping Pong. I have never laughed so much!

Kathy and Cameron....he's so precious!

Matt (Mike's cousin), Amy (his wife), Mike and myself. (I hate this picture of me!) And I promise you...we did not coordinate matching colors!!

Let's just say Mike and I left there full and tired!! What a great time!

Summer Love.

This is my new Summer treat...also known as my new Summer Love. It's definitely worth indulging in during these hot August days. I'd definitely say is better than the Hubby's Chocolate Moose Tracks!! :)

Seem's Like Forever

For some strange reason, I feel like I haven't blogged in a while, when in all actuality, it was Saturday when I posted last. I'm agreeing with the Sister on the whole blogging issues. It's little things that's happening with my blog as well. Maybe the blogging bandwagon is about to collapse. Who knows.

Update on my precious Kaci. She is back to her old self...thank goodness. For those who don't know...Tuesday, we took her to the vet and got her spayed. She hit her 6 mth mark Monday so we wanted to go ahead and get some things taken care of. My heart breaks at how pitiful she was, but I tried to realize that alot of it were the drugs. She's sore, I'm sure, but is playing again like my sweet puppy was.

She didn't know what was going on!

Knocked out from this world. At this point, my arm was about to fall off!

This week has been a good week so far. Long, but good. An exciting happenin' at my work is the Virgin Health Miles. Basically, for $2.50 a paycheck, we wear a pedometer, which records how many steps you take. The higher the steps, the more health points you earn. The more health points you earn, the higher the level you go. By the end of one year, you can earn up to $525 bucks if you are on the highest level. Right now, I am currently working toward a goal of 7000 steps a day (Pretty much that's every one's goal right now). Sounds crazy and far fetched, but the whole point behind it is being active, and motivating yourself to get as many health points as you can. It's exciting and I am totally stoked about doing this. Tonight I went running for about 30 minutes and then walked for 30 minutes. I'm planning on doing it tomorrow again.

This weekend is Mike's Family Reunion. I'm excited to see alot of people I haven't seen in ages, and to meet some people as well. Some are flying in from Michigan and Mississippi. I'm sure I will have plenty of pictures to post!

I Love....

I love when Saturday's are like this. There's no place to be, my hair's a hot mess...and it's just My lovey, My Kaci and myself hanging around. Life is good. :)

**Excuse the skull on the shirt...it's my hubby's old fraternity shirt!**

Can you tell she's spoiled??

Childhood Memories

Something triggered the other day, and it was like all I was thinkin' about for the longest time was sweet memories I had growing up. Some examples are:

* Walking with my mom around the Winter Haven Sr. High School's track with my egg mcmuffin and stuffed dog. I must have been only 4 or 5.

* Laying with my older brother in the corner watching cartoons by the heater in the family room. Why the heater was going in Florida type weather...I have no clue.

* I remember layering on the clothes when ever I knew my dad was gonna spank me...I figured it wouldn't hurt as bad.

* Staying at my Grandma's house. She lived on an old, dirt road that would create so much dust when anyone would fly by driving so fast.

* I remember staying at my Nana and PopPop's, and I loved going in to PopPop's art studio. I loved smooching the paint samples through the plastic wrap.

There are so many more that make my heart smile! :) What are some sweet memories YOU have??

Friday's Thoughts

:: I was so worried about telling my parents that Mike and I did not know if we were going to be at the Family Thanksgiving for sure come the weekend of November 8th. We want to be there because of everyone being there, but it's not every month Mike and I are able to go away on a vacation other than close locations (Georgia, Kentucky). It's gonna be our one year Dec. 5th and with Holiday's being right around the corner, it'd be impossible to take off any that month (December) being new at our offices. I work with people whose been here anywhere from 5 yrs to 8 yrs...to 30 years! I'm at the bottom of the totem pole here. I have to take what I can get. Yes, it'd be just a day early coming home, but we would more than likely want to come home that Sunday. We'll see though.

:: Thank goodness the weekend is here. I think this week has been one of the longest, drag-by weeks I have had in a long time.

:: Tax free weekend is here. Mike's wanting to go to S&K Mens Wear tomorrow. Oh, how I love the crowds....and traffic.

:: Yesterday morning, when I was heading to work this young girl driving this white camaro in the lane next to me almost hit me....literally. The guy that was behind her that pulled up beside me signaled to me like "what the hec was she doing?". Ended up this morning, when I was heading to work...she rear ended somebody. Same girl. Same exact car. Learn how to drive lady.

:: Tonight, I am going to Famous Daves to celebrate a dear friend of mine's birthday. Her name is Joy and I seriously don't know if she realizes what an impact she has on people. She is one of the sweetest, unselfish people I know.

:: I wish the radio station we played at work (Mix 92.9) would find some more songs to play. I think I have heard Tina Turner's "What's Love Have to Do With Us" and Billy Joel's "Piano Man" a trillion times this morning.

:: I slept soooo good last night.

:: On that note, I hate when you're sleeping so good, and the only thing that wakes you up is your bladder. Yes, I said bladder. I hate when I have to go pee!! hehe.

:: I finally got myself a camera charger. Kmart had the one I needed 30 Bucks cheaper than Best Buy. I was a happy picture taker. :)
